Rome exhibitions in autumn 2026: within four days, between 6 and 9 October, Keith Haring opens at Palazzo Braschi, Pontormo at the Scuderie del Quirinale and Richard Avedon at Palazzo delle Esposizioni. October’s three openings

Keith Haring, Museo di Roma

From 6 October 2026 to 11 April 2027, at Palazzo Braschi: more than 140 works and materials from the Nakamura Keith Haring Collection, with public and private loans. From the early New York works and the Subway Drawings to the political posters, sculptures and paintings. Tuesday to Sunday 10am–7pm, last entry one hour before closing, closed Mondays; full price 17 euros, reduced 15.

Pontormo, Scuderie del Quirinale

From 9 October 2026 to 7 February 2027. Open 10am–8pm, last entry 7pm. This is the Old Master show of the season: for a guest who loves sixteenth-century Florentine painting, it is the reason to come to Rome this autumn. Tickets from the Scuderie’s official ticket office.

Richard Avedon, Palazzo delle Esposizioni

“In the American West. 1979-1984”, from 9 October 2026 to 31 January 2027: the portraits Avedon made in the American West, among the best-known series in twentieth-century photography.

For those leading groups and guests

  • Civic Museum exhibitions with their own ticket are still charged on the free first Sunday: free entry covers the museum, not the show.
  • The first two weeks are crowded: for Haring and Pontormo choose a weekday at opening time.
  • Pontormo and Avedon are ten minutes’ walk apart along Via Nazionale: one morning is enough for both.
